Start of an Idea ….

It all started with a simple observation. Marcus Tsai, a high school sophomore in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, noticed that the abundant harvest at his school's farm often yielded more than could be used. He saw not just surplus produce, but a missed opportunity.

Driven by a desire to combat food waste and support those in need, Marcus founded Project Farm to Pantry. He envisioned a direct line from the farm to the tables of families who would benefit from fresh, nutritious food.

His vision became a reality when he connected his school's farm with the Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia. This organization provides essential services, including fresh food, to immigrant and refugee families rebuilding their lives from places like Afghanistan, Haiti, and Ukraine.

Today, Project Farm to Pantry is a growing initiative, turning a small idea into a meaningful project. We are committed to creating a more sustainable and equitable food system by linking local farms with communities in need, one delivery of fresh produce at a time.
